STOP NEW DEVELOPMENT UNTIL WE HAVE PROPER SANITATION 

Following a fairly typical West of Scotland rainstorm walkers along the River Gryffe were disgusted with the detritus which bursts out of the overflowing Gryffe Main Sewer.  This is nothing unusual and nine local doctors have written to Ronnie  Mercer the Chairman of Scottish Water to demand action to cure this hazard to public health.

Senior Scottish Water Manager’s say that this should be a “Constrained Area”. The applicant for 45 new homes at Manse Crescent hasn’t even bothered to consider the problem. 

SEPA don’t have to bother unless the application is in a Constrained Area. 

An official of the local angling club says that he takes biological gel with him when he goes fishing near Houston. 

The developer chosen by Renfrewshire Council is based in Kilmalcolm

HALL SAYS 

This is disgusting in more ways than one.  We are pleased to see that Gryffe Action Group has highlighted this long standing problem. 

Why haven’t Renfrewshire Council done something about it is one question, but why do they ignore it and go hell bent to add to the problem? 

Why are some local councillors not raising merry hell about this? 

Rats, dogs, cats, foxes, scavenging birds and children playing do not carry biological gel.
