Darwen Developments Limited is a substantial English company of some experience in the sort of developments envisaged by the Council when they agreed to sell this land.  

However, the Council has entered into a conditional contract with Darwen Developments (Scotland) Limited of Kilmalcolm.  As far as we can ascertain the companies have no connection with each other.   

The latter company sometimes describes itself as Darwen Developments.   

In 2005 the Council's General Management Policy Board approved the sale of the land to Darwen Developments Limited.  In 2007 the Council entered into a contractual agreement with Darwen Development (Scotland) Limited.  (See the chronology in "Find Out")
